Well now I'm really bored. D8 I want to RP some more but IDK what to post. Apparently I joined in the middle of some plot so all this exciting stuff is going on and I'm utterly confused. I'm stalking Jiro's journal for the next time he posts so I can follow up on my conversation with Saburo. Rofl oh man I hope Jiro likes Alpha because that will really annoy Saburo. XDD;;;

Alpha has been talking to Saburo on Discedo, and the person who plays him started reading YKK. D8 In retaliation, me and Tyler started watching Emobot Kikaider today. I've had the DVDs for like, ever, but never got around to watching them. Well, as it turns out, they were subtitiled in China. Can you say "Engrish"? The first few minutes were a little awkward, but then it introduced the bad guy, Professor Gill, as "BRUCE PHILLIP KILO!"

Long story short, we're watching it on Veoh instead.

SO EMO OH GOD. We only watched the first four episodes because the massive levels of ANGST were too much to handle. You really can't watch it all in one sitting, it's exhausting. Many lulz were had though.

Okay guys, it's a little over a month until Anime Expo. My aunt, who you may recall is letting me crash on her couch and getting me into the con this year, is a woman of few words, or at least vague ones. My previous attempts to subtly get her to provide information on her own have failed, and it looks like I'm just going to have to ask her straight out. So.

Am I forgetting anything?
-Has my registration been handled/What materials I need to take care of myself
-Date and time I should book my train for
-How many days am I staying (before or after the con?)
-Whether or not she will be providing transportation to the con
-Whether she will be providing meals or if I will buy my own

Secondly, this will be my first time attending a con by myself. What sort of preparation should I...prepare?

THINGS THAT I HAVE DONE OVER THE LAST COUPLE DAYS

Watched The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. It was fun and cracktacular and I fell madly in love with Yuki all over again. I mean COME ON.

Then I stayed up all night (stupid) reading a manga called Charming Junkie (which I picked randomly from a list |D). It is a story about a girl, Naka, who gets a really scary face when she gets nervous (it is a GENETIC CONDITION OKAY) and because of that she is turned down by the guy she likes. The guy says he likes girls with a pretty smile, like this one model, Umi. Thus, Naka promptly goes off and joins the modeling agency Umi works for. Because that is CLEARLY the logical course of action. Then she finds out that Umi is actually a DUDE with MAN BITS and he gives her a job in order to keep her quiet about it and hijinks ensue. It is wacky and adorable and I really like it and it was kind of worth staying up till 6 in the morning for.

Then I spent all today reading Kashimashi because hey, it is a manga about genderbending schoolgirl lesbians, what's not to like.

WELL, A LOT APPARENTLY.

Don't get me wrong, it is a pretty great manga and I liked the characters and I even got choked up. But here's the deal; the love triangle is stupid as hell. You have Hazumu, who falls in love with Yasuna, and Yasuna, who falls in love with Hazumu. But Yasuna rejects him because she has MAGICAL BLINDNESS (just go with it). Then Hazumu dies and gets brought back to life as a girl. So now Yasuna can be with him/her, yay! BUT NO, because all of a sudden you have Tomari, Hazumu's childhood friend, who randomly decides that she is lesbian for Hazumu too! Ohnoes, now Hazumu must choose between the two girls who love him/her!

Except the feelings between Yasuna and Hazumu were MUTUAL and he/she had no previous feelings for Tomari, so wtf, why is he/she suddenly torn between them??? THAT IS STUPID. THAT IS WORSE THAN BELLA "SUDDENLY I AM HOT FOR WOLVES" SWAN.

And so Hazumu ends up choosing Tomari, which is lame. And Yasuna's all like "IF SHE'S HAPPY IT'S ENOUGH FOR ME", while I raaage. I swear, it's fucking Tomoyo all over again (I mean, they even look exactly the same, I really should have seen it coming...). Mildly annoyed by this turn of events, I then found out that there was an anime version which had passed the manga and, consequently, switched the outcome. This intrigued me, so I went and watched the last episode. Yeah...Hazumu chooses Yasuna, but it was very unsatisfying, really, they didn't even kiss or anything. Bah. But here's the real kicker! There's an OVA that comes right after the end of the series where Yasuna REJECTS HAZUMU FOR NO ADEQUATELY EXPLORED REASON AND FORCES HAZUMU TO GET WITH TOMARI BECAUSE TOMARI IS HER ~*TRUE LOVE*~ AND HAZUMU JUST, LIKE, CHOSE WRONG OR SOMETHING IDEFK. It was the most contrived bullshit ever omfg. What the crap.

Here's a question for you: How soon is too soon to start freaking out about something? Anime Expo is still a month and a half away and last night I started panicking about it. I keep flip flopping back and forth between eagerly looking forward to it and desperately wanting to just forget about the whole thing.

First of all, it's the first time I'll be going...anywhere by myself. I've been to AX before but I've always gone with Tyler before, and I'm so terribly anxious about crowds and whatnot. I just know that I'm going to get lost and be too scared to ask anyone for directions.

Secondly, Miyou is going to be there and we will be meeting for the first time.

THAT. IS. TERRIFYING.

I am absolutely convinced that she will want nothing to do with me once she meets me in person. Seriously, I would not want to be friends with me! I am the kind of internet dork that makes OTHER internet dorks embarrassed. I SAY "LAWL" AND SHIT. LIKE, OUT LOUD. IN PUBLIC.

Nothing much to talk about, but I have to tell you guys about the movie we watched in Film tonight. It was called Duel.

IT WAS NOT ABOUT CHILDREN'S CARD GAMES. ;_;

There are really only two characters. The first is Dweeby Everyguy David Mann, a traveling businessman heading across California to an appointment.


The second is this truck.


The plot kicks off when Mann passes a disgusting tanker truck on the highway - only to have it zoom back in front of him. The truck slows down, and when Mann attempts to pass again, the truck swerves dangerously in front of him, blocking his way each time. Then the trucker seems to have a change of heart and waves for Mann to go around him...right into oncoming traffic. Annoyed now, Mann swerves onto a side road and speeds past the truck with a laugh. Victory for him!

Until the truck appears suddenly behind him, rushing forward at unnatural speeds, and rams his bumper.

The movie continues with mounting terror as Mann attempts to outrun and outmaneuver the blood-thirsty tanker. The driver is never seen, aside from a waving arm and a pair of cowboy boots, but that's only because the real villain is the truck itself. With smoke belching, engine growling, and horn screaming, the truck is like a modern day dragon, a shadowy beast that has set upon Mann with murderous intent, without rhyme or reason. Mann is but a...well, but a man, and a particularly wimpy one at that. He flails helplessly through most of the film, confronting the (wrong) driver in a pathetic bar fight and attempting to summon help multiple times only to be thwarted by the psychotic truck.

Mann pulls a few quick thinking maneuvers during the chase, such as pulling off the road and hiding to let the truck go by. But after skulking in the brush for over an hour, he pulls around the corner only to find that his adversary is waiting there patiently for him to continue their game.


At this point Mann realizes that he can't hide any longer. If he's going to get this psycho off his back, he needs to take a stand against it. So he wipes his glasses, buckles his seatbelt...and the chase is on.

I won't tell you how it ends, but it was EPIC. The moral of the story is, don't piss off truckers, especially one who collects license plates like notches in a gun handle. Dude will go nuts and try to kill you. Trust me, you never want to see this in your rearview.


It was a really intense movie, and I never thought a truck could be so goddamned terrifying, but driving home after class was scary as hell because of it.


Also, I am gonna freak out every time a truck comes up behind me at a railroad crossing from now on.

1: How long do I have to wait before I dye it again? It's only been a month and a half. My mom is all paranoid about my hair falling out and she wants me to wait as long as possible.
2: I'm all weird half-blond with faded blue underneath now. If I dye it brown again, won't that also fade and go back to blond? Do I need to keep dying it brown until it all grows out or what? Won't that take, like, forever?
